Building a park for Society and Movements at the former ‘Eliniko’ airport
The Elliniko ex-airport remains the last large public, free, unbuilt space in all of Athens. In that sense it may be seen as a common good and a “common resource”. To the extent that the social and ecological transformation of production based on collective needs is now becoming a central goal, the ex- airport and the beach of Agios Kosmas, may be scope of policies to promote social reappropriation through models of cooperative, social and solidarity economy. We believe that the active participation of society is nowadays a major issue. The former Greek airport can be converted into a meeting place which supports creative activities, citizens’ initiatives, cooperative actions, self-managed ventures and more. We believe that the realization of such a project is absolutely feasible and it has to emerge from the spontaneous mobilization of the citizens of Athens.
The “Self-managed farm of Ellinikο is based on alternative, social and solidarity economy models has been created as a collective effort by a citizens group as a response to the crisis that p the Greek community. This attempt wants to answer in four major aspects:
The privitization of biodiversity through legislation and the regulation of seed trading
Behaviours as a common good
This presentation approaches social behaviors as the main resource of Politeia 2.0 project. Politeia 2.0 is a Commons Based Peer Production project operated by an open Multi-Stakeholder COOP with a vision to create the culture, practices and tools for a bottom up rethinking/redesign of urban, social and political institutions and decision making. As a CBPP project Politeia 2.0 experienced incidents/events that could be dealed as ‘The Targedy of the Commons’.
However, it’s worth to anayse it’s core resources (behaviorwise) that are:
1. Taking action / Taking Responsibility
2. Knowledge of self limitations as a means for personal breakthrough.
3. Set of human corelations /
4. Set of human corelations regardless the degree of disagreements / The experience economy.
5. Ancient human need for socialising
6. Human need to seek the ‘new’ and design on ‘white canvas’.
7. Collective intelligence.
8. Time and Space for human corelations.
9. Individual / Collective in harmony.
Resources that are human and abundant, core elements of the Collabrative Commons.

Openness: What is it and how do we evaluate it?
The presentation consists of a short introduction to Creative Commons licenses and some thoughts on their use, as well as the means for evaluating the result of such use. Creative Commons licenses are not only a legal tool, but also a means for communicating the freedoms and restrictions that the initial creator wishes for a work to carry. They provide options to the initial creator, with varying degrees of freedom granted to subsequent creators or users. Now if we were to examine license use at a global level, how would we evaluate outcomes? Based on the number of works that have been licensed under CC? Or should we examine how ‘free’ a particular license is? I generally conclude that apart from any quantitative data concerning license adoption, we must understand how license use is implicated in relations of power or dominance. To the extent that their use facilitates the questioning or rebalancing of such relationships, the outcome is positive. Where that does not happen, benefits are doubtful.
