Patrick Conaty
Pat Conaty is a Research Fellow at new economics foundation in London and a research associate of Co-operatives UK. His latest book with Mike Lewis published in 2012 is The Resilience Imperative: Co-operative Transitions to a Steady-state Economy.
He has been researching and developing ‘commons solutions’ since 1999 in the UK and he has led work in this field and co-developed the Community Land Trust (CLT) model that is now operating nationally for the provision of affordable housing and for other local economy needs including workspace and renewable energy. The CLT national demonstration work has been done with Community Finance Solutions at the University of Salford (where he is a research associate) and further developed in more recent years under the umbrella of the expanding work and programmes of the National CLT Network. http://www.communitylandtrusts.org.uk/ncltn
He has produced a wide range of research reports covering such topics as social ecological and economic policy and practice, co-operative development finance, land access for community food growing, community energy partnerships and Community Land Trust practice.
