Last minute surprises

With great pleasure we announce some last minute surprises of the marvelous world of the Commons.

  • We will be having livestream of all the talks thanks to the Heraklion Wireless Metropolitan Network group, giving you the option to watch the talks live from anywhere in the world.
  • The new ebook “Beyond the state and the market: The peer to peer perspective” Πέρα από το κράτος και την αγορά: Η ομότιμη προοπτική” will be available during the festival from the  Βορειοδυτικές εκδόσεις under Creative Commons license.
  • The  campaign has reached 87%, at the moment of writing this, which means we are very close to make it 100% with your help.
  • the labaki hackerspace will be constructing a 3D printer as part of the exhibition.

Building the coalition for the Commons

CF 2014_MAIN THEME_Web BannerThe 2nd CommonsFest is a unique opportunity for collectives and projects, acting based on the value of sharing and collaborative creation, to meet up. Despite their different origins and topics of involvement, the bonds of the shared values of sharing, solidarity, collaboration, social justice and the pursuit of a harmonious relationship between humans and nature, form the common ground to build a civil coalition for the emergence and expansion of the Commons. The acceleration of this process is important as impasses of current perceptions that limit the horizon of production and reproduction of social life between state and market become more and more acutely apparent.

Creating Commons: Photographing our cultural heritage!

In CommonsFest, we acknowledge the value of the largest free encyclopedia in the world, as well as the fact that this value is given by its users, since they are the ones who contribute all the content that exists in it and keeps developing dynamically.
