FLOK Society Project
Our first group of guests at the pre-festival event of CommonsFest 2015 which will take place in Heraklion-Crete on April 17-18 comes from Ecuador’s FLOK Society Project.
FLOK Society project (aka Proyecto Buen Conocer) is a research-activist project which begun in 2013 upon the initiative of an open group of activists and academics with the aim of developing a set of public policy proposals for the transformation of Ecuador into a social economy based on the principles of the Commons, of peer production and governance and of free access to knowledge.
Open Value Networks
In the context of the pre-festival event of the Festival of the Commons which will be held in Heraklion on April 17-18, we asked our invited speakers to write a short article about their areas of activity and expertise.
The first of those articles is “Open Value Networks and Commons-based Peer Production” by Apostolis Xekoukoulotakis, scheduled to speak on Saturday 18 April.

Screening of documentary: “Knowledge as a Common, Communities of production and sharing in Greece”
The Cinema Group from University of Crete who organizes screenings of documentaries and movies, is organizing the screening of a documentary on Thursday 8th of May as a pre-festival event:
“Knowledge as a Common, Communities of productiong and sharing in Greece”, from the director Ilias Marmaras.
The screening will start at 19:30 at the Social Place. A discussion will follow with the participation of the director. Free Entrance.
